Prologue (to: A dragon's Universe)

When the Dragons of Old first ruled the universe, there were many. Without predators or territorial threats, the dragons lived in peace throughout the vast land which they ruled. They had no other intelligent species among them, so nothing went amiss. Most of the dragons, especially males not in the mating years, formed colonies. These clans were very peaceful, and never sought to go after each other in conflict.
A hundred millenniums after the first dragons had risen from clay and song, the dragons knew that their universe was not the only universe. One of the young dragons had been sucked into a vortex after playing near the edge. The vortex was formed after the star that provided warmth to the dragons collapsed into itself. These vortices, also known as black holes, were territory warps. The dragon, which eventually got out after some time, had caught a glimpse into a world where there were creatures with only two hind legs, and no tails.
The young dragon, in a state of shock, had been missing for 1 week. Though in the other universe, it seemed, through the rising and setting of the young sun of the territory, it had taken only an hour. The dragons had taken only that information, and learned that the planet was young, its days short. That universe had many vacant, new galaxies. They could form those galaxies as they were developing, and make them fit for dragons to live. But first they decided that they would start with the galaxy that the void, zero-space led to. Instead of going in and invading, they took a more indirect approach. They would never drive out the two-legs by force. The dragons had learned it the hard way, by having half of its universe destroyed when one dragon tried to take over the whole race. They wouldn't conquer them, either. They would observe, and learn their ways and troubles, and aid them, in order to earn a part in their world.
